365 Project 2015 January

Jan. 1 - "Good Morning 2015!"

My goal this year is to capture an image a day, and share it.  I believe this practice will sharpen my photography skills, and improve my level of creativity.  Some images will be spontaneous, but I have some helpful prompts if I struggle to find an idea.  The first image is entitled "Good Morning 2015!"  No surprise this morning included tea, plus a computer which was being used to research this very project, while also capturing my just-turned-six-year-old's likes, dislikes and future aspirations (a questionnaire we do every year).  Here goes!

Jan. 2 - "Shadow Leaves"

I like the shadow play on these, especially as they are captured with natural light.  This was a small house plant that has grown into a jungle over the last couple years.

Jan. 3 - "Card Shark"

My 3 year old is learning how to play card games.  He's addicted.  Uno, Exact Change, Spot It, he loves them all.

Jan. 4 - "Taming of the Germ"

Germs have taken us hostage this past week.  This is my depiction of modern medicine, aka., our germ arsenal.

Jan. 5 - "Finally, Snow!"

It's dusk, bitter cold and grass is still poking through the snow.  However, the boys had to try out their new sleds after school.  I stepped out on the deck for a sec to attempt to get a fun image.

Jan. 6 - "Gray Shadows"

Jan. 7 - "Warm Baked Oatmeal"

Wow, I actually took a picture everyday for 7 days.  I can do this!

Jan. 8 - "Tablet"

The warm glow of the tablet.  Ah, screen time.  They are horribly wonderful inventions, aren't they?

Jan. 9 - "Baby Face"

Lately, I look at my Gray and realize he's losing that baby look and becoming a full-on boy.  However, this moment, at this particular angle, he looks like baby Gray to me.  Those glimpses are few and far between.

Jan. 10 - "Puzzle Mania"

As the 'baby face' disappears, the boy emerges.  This boy is on a puzzle kick, we did three in one day.  He's contemplating starting a fourth in this shot.

Jan. 11 - "Guest Artist"

My camera was near me most of the day, however, I managed to not take a picture.  Not sure how?  Nathan helped me out by snapping a few of us sledding.  All the Kudos go to him for this shot.  Thanks, baby!

Jan. 12 - "Bon Appetit"

Two reasons I decided to take this picture.  1) Paris has been top of mind recently.  I stand with them against radical, hateful terrorists who seek to thwart freedom of speech.  2) This sign was an incredible find at a local antique store, while shopping with my mom in November.  It was meant for my kitchen!

Jan. 13 - "Sweet Baby Charlotte"

I had the privilege of a quick visit to see sweet baby Charlotte today.  She was adorable and fun.  Quite the model for day 13, don't you think?

Jan. 14 - "Brogan's Office"

I gave him his own desk a couple months ago.  It took no time at all for him to completely fill the space.  He even spills out onto the floor sometimes when he's working on his projects.  It is fun to watch him create, write and color.

Jan. 15 - "Winter Sky"

I was outside with the boys this day and was drawn in by the blue sky and scattered clouds.  We don't seem to see blue sky enough during Michigan winters.

Jan. 16 - "First Lost Tooth"

"Mom, guess what?  I just lost my tooth!"  Brogan was very excited to tell his friends.

Jan. 16 - "The Griddle"

My husband is a tremendous cook.  What he truly excels at preparing breakfast foods.  This weekend he made a couple different types of breakfast sandwiches and they were all delicious.

Jan. 17 - "Sweet Dreams Hulk"

I used my ipad as a softbox to get this shot.  This is my sweet Gray sound asleep.  He of course is wearing his green hulk shirt that he got for Christmas.  It's one of his favorites.

Jan. 18 - "Runner-up"

I cheated for this.  I managed to not take a picture this day.  So, I decided to include a photo I took Jan. 2nd that almost made it into the project for that day.

Jan. 19 - "Bathtub Derby"

Many mornings my 3 year keeps me company in the bathroom while I am getting ready for the day.  This particular morning he turned the empty bathtub into a racetrack.  "Here he comes around the corner, ahhhh he fell off the track," he shouted.  "Crash, ahhhhh you're going to fast!"  I love listening to him use his imagination.  Later that day I noticed the empty tub with the lone Jeep at the bottom.  It made me smile.

Jan. 20 - "Honorable Mention"

Geez, I'm slacking.  I forgot to take a photo this day as well!?  Here is another contender from Jan. 9th.

Jan. 21 - "Stella"

Meetings ALWAYS make me thirsty!

Jan. 23 - "Homemade Fajitas"

I originally snapped this to win a $5 off coupon from Door to Door Organics.  Then I decided to include it in the project.  They were delicious, in case you are wondering.

Jan 24 - "Mt. Brighton"

Broges started snowboarding last year and fell in love with it.  This is him on Saturday learning some new skills.

Jan. 25 - "Screen Time"

A quick shot with my iphone of post-bath T.V. time.

Jan. 26 - "Nice Pour"

Just too pretty not to document!

Jan. 27 - "Winter Stream"

This is behind a Cider Mill in Northville.   I drive thru here while on the road for work.

Jan. 30 - "Winery Mi Amore"

Yes, you guessed it.  A snap of my "Happy Place."

Jan. 31 - "Snow Warrior"

Is there a better use for a Warrior Dash Viking hat?  I submit to you there is not!  When you've accumulated 8 like my hubby has, you might as well sport them while you're conquering the snow.
